When you loose a nice local job to a competitor having priced it as keenly as you can.....and you go and have a looksee a few weeks later......

The job was done a few weeks ago, couldn't resist to go and have a sneaky look (it is an access rd to a small business centre and 3/4 houses...)

......To find a large lorry (as I was told at the time of pricing/spec'ing) had used the roadway, turned into one of the units and dragged a fair bit of the surface course away as it turned.

Looks like they've been able to do the job cheaper using a standard bitmac when I specc'd an industrial strength 50pen 10mm SMA.

Cheaper isn't always best as these people have found out. I'm not perfect (but I'm nearer to it than most, as I tell the wife!!) but I won't be loosing any sleep over it :)
