so finally ive got myself a website, it has taken ages for the buliders to get the pics in the right places and the text right, and some of it still isnt right but after hundreds of emails back and forth ive given up, ive told them to set it up so i can log on and do the editing myself.

Hoping to get the adwords sorted - google cant find it! Apparently it can take up to 3 months for google to index it, anyone any wiser than me on this sorta stuff.

I know its only basic but what do you lot think

www.dngroundworks.co.uk

cheers

Register with google analytics and google webmaster tools.
The first lets you see how people are finding your site and who is clicking through. The 2nd lets you verify your site for google.
Register with other search engines too, bing and yahoo being the two other main ones.

You have the domain name dngroundworks.co.uk so you should have an email address associated with it, you will either get one free with the domain name or it costs next to nothign to get one, I would get on the first thing that stuck out for me was @btinternet.com

Google webmasters

Google analytics

Google places

They have some helpful videos, faqs, blogs etc on the sites. It isn't that complicated.

The 3rd link is for getting your business up on google maps and the listings for google places.

Adwords is a little bit more complicated, you need to set it up properly or you could get people from scotland clicking through to your page or people looking for work that you don't do clicking and costing you money. If done right it will drive traffic to your site which will hopefully generate business and bump you up on the normal listings.

That's a very good website, Very clean and clear.
As above google places is a must, make a Facebook page/gumtree/Craigslist as they all index very well.
Also don't forget to update all your online advertising to include your URL.
Don't fall for these spammy sites that promise to advertise your site on thousands of directories, google algorithms can spot spam a mile away.
If your gonna edit it yourself I can send you some SEO tutorials (or anyone else)

Content is King Dan.... Don't try to compete with marshalls and other well established website for now focus on your niche market...SEO is hard work and takes a long time..I am in the travel industry and it has taken me 5 years to get to the top...type in Orlando Villas and you will see my website orlando4villas

PPC (pay per click) can be exspensive be sure you to add negative keywords example "block paving for sale"

Don't pay anyone to do SEO false promises

If you need anything just let me know

I like the site. Simple and effective! In the middle of building mine too. Really hard to get motivated. Mate is doing it for £200 but I've got to get the print and layout for him to set up and I'm struggling.

What do you charge for a manned digger per day btw?

it all depends on the length of hire for me, £250.00 for 1 day with the 3 t, but id get through some serious work, less if its for a week or longer. The 8t machine 4-500 quid depending on distance per day again less for longer hire, if on long term hire on bigger machines then its down to the hourly rate.

Why the negative keywords aaron?
