Singer and actress Whitney Houston has sadly died aged 48
Whitney Houston Dies
one of the most celebrated female singers of all time, with hits including I Will Always Love You and Saving All My Love For You.
But her later career was overshadowed by substance abuse and her turbulent marriage to singer Bobby Brown
what a tragic waste of a life through drug abuse

Another life wasted by substance abuse. when will these celebrities learn that their actions encourage younger kids to copy them. I feel it every time i hear about a drug death because i've lost lots of pals to it and the odds are stacked against my son and his pregnant girlfriend. With all their millions and able to book into clinics any time they want, what chance have the kids on the street got. A beautiful woman, all that talent, lovely family.....what a f****** waste.

A tragic waste indeed
I find that picture particularly tasteless stuart as that man has probably just had his kids/missus blown up.
I know you didnt make it
she has been bang on the pipe for at least 10 years and she isnt the only one,
RIP Whitney, remember a lot of slow dances as a teen to "saving all my love for you"
song

I think i know where Stewart is coming from LLL. That poor bloke may of just lost is family in tragic circumstances but then so have Whitney's family. The only thing different is she only has herself to blame, the poor man probably hasn't done anything to deserve it.

I have no sympathy for whitney houston but feel every bit for her poor family who now have to pay for years to come. Drug abuse can be so selfish.

yeah fair comment lpad as I felt the same about the smack head winehouse when she died, her music made an impression on millions but to me it was crap music, now Whitney to me was a legend in the 80's and still is to this day hence why I have sad thoughts about her death yesterday

There's not one Whitney Houston song that I like in fact I find most of them very irritating.
I hope this doesn't come over the wrong way but it's for that reason I find it difficult to get emotional over her death.

It seems once you have a few bob you get surrounded by people telling you your right all the while
judy garland, elvis, michael jackson all went the same way
personally i have lost 3 friends to gear and it destroyed their families
such a shame

That's true.
To get to the top you must have a lot of self belief and when people around you to tell you can do no wrong it's not always helpful.

Its really sad but not particuarly surprising. Her drug problems were very well documented. She was on Oprah a couple of years ago saying she was clean but who knows. Its quite common for people who have beaten drug addictions to move onto alcohol as some kind of replacement, i dont know if that was the case with whitney but it was the case with Amy. Whitney was what 48 and had been a crack addict for best part of 20 years. The human body is not designed to take that sort of hammering and even if she was clean of drugs she was probarbly on booze or prescription drugs as all these celebs seem to be.
