Anyone any experience of lithuanians? Im not joking, list a job online and all of these little bitches that supposedly cant get a job havnt bothered to reply to mine. I think 50% of people who "cant find work" dont actually want it. Benifits are far better

worked with a few in the smoke .like doing long hours .know a few who worked 7.30 till 5 on our job then 10 till 6 on nightshift for someone else . redbulls a plenty, overtaking the romanians in the labouring market in the smoke.albanians do 95% of paving in the smoke out of the foreigners.never come across a pole yet . long gone.

I've seen their paving first hand and it is terrible
The guys doing it just dont give a shit so they have paths that are dips and peaks all over the place. When the heavy rain comes they fill with water that comes up to your ankle.
Wish I had filmed it when I was there but I saw them laying, the guy just pulled a chip out of a bucket and just sat there hitting it for ages with his mallet until it wouldn't go down any further, no concern for levels just that it wouldn't sink.
Nice pattern though :p

Poles have moved up the food chain now. All the lads in our yard are Eastern European.
Polish, Bulgarian and Romanian. They are absolute diamonds. hardworking and loyal, exactly what you need. We've tried to employ english lads but they never last. I keep a file on current and previous employees. There are 7 lads in the "previous employees" file and they are all English.
One of the Bulgarian lads form the yard has ben with us for 3 years and has reached a bit of a dead end outside, so in January he's coming inside the office to work on sales. Another one of the guys (cosmin from Romania, LLL has met him) started out sweeping up in the yard 2 years ago and in January will be moving into the office to manage all the operations. In my experience they are much hungrier and arent scared of getting thier hands dirty.
Also the romanians and Bulgarians will be getting full work rights within a year or two. At the minute they are classed as sub contractors

Probably because they come from earthier more tradional cultures, less Urbanised than us, or maybe they haven't grown up in an enviroment where you don't have to try to get "on". You can just sit back and in pour the hand outs. Free homes, free food/gear and beer money, enough cash about for buying the odd pair os shell bottoms, and when you need anything you go and moan at some poor git at the social for a handout, cos its yer rights. Soft thats what we've become.

Paid a lad off last Friday purley due to lack off work and he phoned me today to say thanks with Christmas coming up. He is now £500 per month better off on the brew.
