Question for LLL, ive laid 300 six inch solids, flat down, today, including building corners and a radius corner for a retaining wall.

How many does a full time bricky manage a day?

6 inch solid whats dan?
I take it you mean concrete blocks
hard to say really, when lads start all that " thousand bricks a day" malarkey in the pub, i mentally note them as wnackers
what matters is ,
are they plumb and level?
are all the joints full?
did you get paid a lot of money for doing it?
me and my old scud kev laid 1000 100mm blocks in a day but we were ruined for 2 days after
average on house bashing about150-200 a day with corners jams and reveals
laying them flat in footings about 250-350 although i have seen lads do some very naughty stuff when laying blocks flat in deep footings (no bed for 4 course)
if its all good you did well dan
:)

Lo never heard of that before Tony! yes perfectly plumb and literally 1mm tolerance in level over 70+ metres, an old guy said to me once "never substitute qaulity for speed young fella" quite right.

Whoever put the footings in wants a slap, they were literally inches and inches out

Its all a bit backwards really, im building the wall, and im a paver/groundworker/plant guy and the guys that put the footings in are builders, but.....whatever, im enjoying building it, beats sliding round in crap like usual
