That can only be great news. £100m is too much for one couple.

I've always said I'd be happier winning a couple of million instead of a win like that I think it would ruin me. I'd hate the pressure of having to decide what to do with it and the only thing I could think of would be setting up a charity tohelp the needy. Get it invested and working for you and use the proceeds to help others. With a few mill you've enough to supplement your income for life and live well but you'd still need to keep your feet on the ground and watch the pennies. Some of the happiest times of my life have been when I was skint. Some of the worst were pre crash when my income was very good but I was a slave to it and had no work life balance. I would feel bought if I was given a lump of cash like that in fact how do you give that amount away surely it's taxable even if it's a gift.

The win is tax free so they don't pay anything and get it all but spending it and profit from it isn't. If you give someone money over a certain amount as a gift (several thousand I think) then it's taxable I would assume its the same for this. I think the rates are the same as income tax.
