i had a bad feeling when flood was mentioned ,but its a crying shame when men die doing this kind of work in the 21st century
I know there are earthquakes and tsunamis etc all round the world

but if a fund is started for their families i would bang 20 quid straight in
RIP boyos

Very sad to hear. I had a glimmer of hope after the recent rescues but it wasn't to be.
Well done to the 200 or more valiant rescue workers and my thoughts are with the family's of those who have lost their loved ones.

It was a private mine ,so Im lead to believe, so would like to see the HSE's take on the events that lead up to this

Mr Thomas said: “It’s not unusual for three or four families to get together and buy a mine license. [The owners] are probably ex miners. I know a family who were going to buy this bloody mine two years ago, he added.

He went on: “Years ago the small private mines weren’t as safe as the big British Coal mines. But the last several years, changes have been imposed to tighten up the safety.
