I've got a couple of Indian suppliers over and I took them to central London to see Big Ben and Parliament Square.

Saw this bit of construction going on. The granite setts are 150mm thick !!! They had a sawn face and with handcut edges.







Also saw this flamed basalt down near waterloo station. Expensive stuff but is just the ticket for high traffic areas.



Going off the topic a bit we had a walk up to Parliment square. The guys were all over the houses of parliament but I was more interested in this lot







Most of them were just asleep in the tents. one of the tents had the message "Abolish Money" written on the side. I got the impression that most of them didn't really know why they were there. Spoke to one old guy who had fought in the second world war who believed that we should completely disband the military. I dont mind them protesting but its not right that the centre of parliament square is closed to the general public because of the actions of a few professional protesters. They will probarbly move onto something else next week. My Indian suppliers could not believe it when I told him that some of the protestors had been there for a couple of years. He says if that was in India the police would clear them in ten minutes flat.

Saw these setts laid within the houses of parliament "Cookie Style". that job would be a doddle for the cook and haggs

hi steve. i take it the setts on your first pic are on a murphy job . i have laid lots of them around central london. the ones we laid in argylle street outside the london palladium were 200mm thick . they are very easy to lay ,alot easier than say 100mmm cubes. they are supplied by marshalls.they come in quite a few colours too including whie,charcoal ,yellow and pink . think they are about the 150 pound a metre mark to buy.

hats off to the protesters, hope they embarrassing dickhead cameron & the other no mark clegg. I would love to live there free of charge, meals brought to me by other do gooders and all day to beg.....ideal way of life.
