On Friday I learnt just how painful it is to hit yourself on the ankle with the grubbing end of a pick axe. I always thought it would be sore but it turns out it's worse than I'd expected. Was wearing thick riggers if I wasn't I'd not have foot left the swelling and bruising has got worse since this was taken and i reckon I'm useless for most of next week. Took a glancing blow off a rock when I wasn't paying attention I'm a complete schoolboy.

Both big toes and a couple of the others were squashed like tomatoes by a mate dropping a 3x2 on them arsing around in my early teens. Wasn't a pretty site my toes are noticably flatter and the nails grow in all shapes. I did the same to most of my fingers working on a prawn trawler when I was 16. They went through a rope hauler one hand at a time and broke the tips of 7 fingers. Worst pain I've ever had and because both hands were wrecked I couldn't hold them or onto anything on a rocking boat. My lucks improved since then until friday.
