Had to take my Transit in for MOT, service and Gera selector replacement today, not fun anyway, but when I got to the Van this morning, I noticed my side Mirrors out, as I live on a crap road for parking I always push them in, thought nothing of it, got in and noticed some Fe@*er had pinched both Mirrors !! So thats a fail staight away.
I then Drive to the Garage and hand over the Transit, and at the same time pick up our LDV Pick up which had been in for MOT and service first. The Mechanic then hands me the Pass certificate and then informs me that they had to Park the VAn on the Road to make some room on their forecourt, and while it was Parked, half on the Pavement, a German Arctic Driver took the back end out with his Trailer.. and drove off!! The whole of the back has been lifted on the rear off side and moved over about 2" to the left. Its a tipper as well. with its age 02 it's probably a right off, so I lost a day, so did the Lads and the Nazi drove off. B%$$%X what do you have to do to get a fair crack!!

That's what they tell you what happened! Sue the garage for the damages as the vehicle was in their possession and charge at the time.

Mick, it's the garage's responsibility not yours. Doesn't matter how well you know them it wasd in their care, your own insurers won't pay out anyway if they hear the full story.

We guessed he was German because a witness said it was a German Reg and had Hertz written all over it, we've now found where he was delivering to, so we're calling there Monday, if that fails I'm doing the Garage. Pissed of that the trucks old and worth jack, so even if it's wrote of we'll only get back about £1200. Mind you they may let us keep it as well so I suppose that's better than a kick in the proverbials, which is what it felt like yesterday.

.....B*******. If i may hijack your thread Mick. I took four pine old wardrobes doors, two large drawers and four small drawers to be dipped. Just put doors on and f****** swelled, so don't fit and drawers to tight. Lovely old wardrobes cost an arm and a leg 6 years ago. If any one is thinking of dipping, don't!!!

we've had loads of stuff dipped in the past. think there a better way now, when they sponge the stuff on. it also disolves the the glue holding everything together. you should let everything dry out for a month or 2. lay them flat under the bed perhaps.

lol yes they used to use 'proper' glue from animal bones, this 'organic matter' does bode well in a bath of nitro

.....Update..... Wife phoned me in the week to say: the doors and drawers are back to normal and fit great, and have put drawers in and doors on. Came home late last night, went in spare bedroom to have a butchers at her handy work, opened a wardrobe door and.....ouch!!! She had put them on but hadn't screwed them home. "Just wanted to see what they look like'', she said as i was hopping about screaming holding my toe. Bless 'er  :p
