doing a job for nhs via 10 ppl higher than me so got the plans and specification priced it got the job etc ordered the aco's and aco road gully. the gully was £1100 for a bit of plastic and steel cover anyway special order through tp per the given spec.

today they cancelled the gully to save £1500, so i had to suffer a 40% restocking fee on the gully and frame and cover(grid), really annoying paying to send it back plus carriage for them to sell it again. grrr but they had sent two 40 ton covers (grids) but ticket said 1 so i said to the lads in tp. can i have that and they said yep its not on their ticket it doesnt exist haha.

so if anyone needs and Aco 40 ton grid i have one going at a good price, list is about £450 i think. you win some youploose some.

we just had an almost exact same scenario at a school job where there is a tenuous chain of command, all additional restocking costs due to clients changing their mind are borne by the client, if it wasnt so you would be wide open
LLL ???

yeah they'll suffer it but still seems a shame paying that for nothing really, tony so annoying having such a chain same for us. any decision takes 2 days to be passed laong which means sitting around and no allowance for that in cost.

Pablo is right, you are supposed to be paid for all spec materials ordered and the not used (must prove delivery etc along with all costs incurred due to design changes etc), but by the time you will be paid (8th in the food chain) and for less than a £1k amount depending on the tender value and your terms (what you agreed too in the tender and as your 8th, you have no idea) are basically fecked. :(

NaH it'll be alright and we are kicking arse and making friends so think we'll be jumping 2 or 3 steps. Got a meeting with them next week, even though we've finished so will be alright.

Don't like the it ain't our job that a lot of these contractors adapt on these big jobs.
