Eddie Stobart ran a proper haulage company. All the drivers had to wear shirts and ties etc. They were that well renound that there was even Stobart watchers who used to stand on motorway bridges ticking off the lorries they had seen

just read a bit more and he was the son of the original eddie ,who is still alive in his 80s
stress is just not worth it

He was Edward stobbart to his farther eddie, sold the business 2006 to his brother and a business partner but 57 is no age to go.
Burried my grandad on Tuesday He'd made it to 88 but last 2 years alzymhers had ruined him.

My great uncle harry dawson passed away monday, he celebrated his 70th wedding anniversary 2 years ago him and my great aunt lou are both into their 90's and living at home (well were ) he buried his eldest son last year,never does any man any good

To be fair, lorry drivers were a menace up until Eddie introduced a code of conduct.
His boys knew their role and responsibilities.
Bodies were disposed of quickly, efficiently and with little inconvenience to the public.

i dont really watch top gear so missed the funnys,i have seen clarkson out on the lash in dover street wine bar and he was proper trolleyed,hes a big fecker as well

Have to disagree there bobbi o, Edward supposedly ran a squeaky clean haulage company, with drivers taking tacho breaks when they should, never going over their hours, proper weekend rest breaks etc etc, that was until some of his blue eyed boys were caught and the sh1t hit the fan. Ministry of Transport had a field day when they went in to check the tachographs and found about 20%-25% had major discrepancies. All this happened back in the mid 90s so long forgotten about.
