I am wanting to replace a wall I have. It is approx 5m long and .75m high - double bricked.
I have worked this out to be approx 500 house bricks.
What sort of prices should I be looking at for this?
How long a job is it?
Some guide line prices for labour would be appreciated

its a days work for a good brickie and a labourer
approx £250 +vat

Thank you for that. The only quote that has come back so far is for £800 (which did include the materials) bit even so it is a lot. I am only going to have buff coloured bricks which are 40p each from my local supplier
At least I have an idea of what is a good price now.

well you need a tonne of sand,6 bags of cement ,some plasticiser that will cost you roughly £100
£200 for bricks
and £250-£300 labour
so roughly £600 should be in the ballpark
you need to over order on the bricks as you will always get chipped ones that cant be laid
also you need to get rid of any rubbish produced
for a real quality job £800 isnt a rip off price

just dont go for the cheapest mate, LLL has posted pictures of his latest work which is rebuilding the cheapest quote.

was just about to echo rab but he beat me to it. 800 is a fair price for a decent job, assuming thats what you get. people always think brickwork is expensive but laid out like above its clear.

In my opinion It would have to be a real quality job for £800.
LLL work is exceptional and I would be happy to pay that price but if the bricky is one of those run of the mill types (and there seems to be plenty of those about) then perhaps it should be nearer the ballpark figure of £600 that was quoted.
