I really hope he didn't actually mean how does he sleep, cos I for one hope the W@%*#r has Feckin nightmares, although judging by his handling, or should that be non Handling of the Bankers he couldn't give a toss. Good to see where all in the shite together.
Reminds me of the story of the Titanic where all the Rich got in the Lifeboats and left the rest to Drown...Still there's always the Royal Wedding to cheer us up:p

Nice analogy, the rich 'man' the tidal wave of bail out cash and we are left with the sinking ship.
Having to remorgage the already over morgaged home to send the kids to Uni.
Glad he said it directly to the git, hopefully he will start thinking his policies really are impacting everyone.

Sadly I don't think he will Mate, problem is we need to all get together and have a bit of a rave about it, like say the French or Greeks, maybe not as far as the Arabs, but until we all do something, nothing will ever change. The British people never seem to do anything, just small groups, Students, miners, Hippies etc and when they do the Press makes them all into Rotters and we join in tha slagging.
About time we all did something, what, I don't know, but something. I'm no ranting Anarchist, but it's just getting harder and harder to make ends meet ain't it. I work all the hours I can, miss time with my Family and still the moneys not great and then the Banks just pile out Bonuses to their mates, Footballers get wages that could prop up a third world country and we're supposed to be happy about it....Grrrrrr!! Sorry not had me coffee yet

What like keep borrowing and borrowing to continue the lie to employ sone additional 800k public servants like labour did. Brown sold all our gold at the lowest price now it's higher than it ever has been.
The bank bail out is a blip in a huge overdraft that we were left with through miss management and who ever came into power would have had to cut back and cut back hard.
Bankers are an east target and previous government loving the fact that they're getting all the attention and blame for the situation but again was the previous gov that missmanaged the financial regulations allowing the situation to occur.
The banks contribute huge amounts in tax 25% corporation tax etc employ 100k we crack down hard they'll move to hong kong or switzland.
If you or me is short of money do we cut back or plough on on credit saying sod the kids can pay it back at 60% tax because we wanted to keep borrowing to live the lie.
And Sean last time I checked we were a democracy we elected this coalition just because you don't like them doesn't mean we should have a revolution.
Most the complainers had it far to east under labour 2 ppl for every job huge salaries and final salary petitions it's about time they got in with the rest of us and felt what it was like to worry if you are going to be able to pay your mortgage

i think most people were peed off with the u.k giles long before the ant and dec coalition party were voted in . shows how much we all think of our politicians . we couldnt even vote one party in. could be worse we could have thatcher back here with 20% unemployment and 15% interest rates

No giles I don't think we should keep borrowing to live the lie. I have never lived on credit mate, just the Mortgage, I didn't vote for this joke of a coalition and I didn't vote for the last bunch of self promoting tossers either.
Me and my missus put our selves through Uni, work hard to put a decent roof over our kids, raise our Girls right and try to be honest people. I like to think I have a good moral code and I agree that their are too many Public sector Workers taking huge salaries, wages across the board are too high, but that's the fault of the Profit driven system we are forced to live with that forces the cost of living to continue to go sky high.
To allow Bankers to blackmail is plain wrong, morally at this time a bit of sympathy would of been a bold move by the board of any of the major Banks, and applauded by all.
I don't know what the answers are to the situation we're in but from where I stand it all seems very unfair and one sided in favour of the wealthy.

Forbes just released the new rich list. As we are in a recession (of sorts) how come theres 200 new BILLIONAIRES? Yes billionaires, for the year when we all lost work/tightened belts.
Its a shame the global economy is going the way it is.

I'm starting the revolution today, I'm at home waiting on going to a Quote..so I won't go, I'll withdraw my labour and man the barricades instead, anyone up for it?
Just bagged 18m3 of used York stone, which will make a very fetching barricade, probably laid in a Cornish Herringbone style across the M5...THAT'LL SHOW EM!!
In reality what can we as working People really do, I don't work, I lose me House, shite state of affairs:rock:

Like it
There is this on the 26th of March. Be interesting to see how many turn up.
Wonder if it will rival the march against the hunting ban?
Like you said, not many options when your collared with a mortgage.

That's sound mate, just posted it on Facebook, my missus is on about it, so we may be going. She's a lecturer in Higher Education, and their all facing cuts, even though their training people.
This could really spell the end of democracy in this country. Unless we get out of this shite where in, no one will vate for either Tory or Lib Dem, and with Labour as the only other option, and the weird geezer they have in charge unlikely to attract many voters plus they are blamed for the mess in the first place, who is their to vote for??
Still it all ends next Dec 21st so no worries, I'm out to rack up the Credit Cards, D'ya reckon it's true?

Yes its an Americanism that's why 'billionaire' has been bandied about so much lately, 1000x1000000 = 1000,000,000 not 1000000 x 1000000 = 1000000000000.
All in all not geting lost in semantics, theres a hell of alot more people with major wonga. :p

I agree with Giles on this, as a Country we cannot do what Labour did and spend money we dont have like a drunk gambler on a night out. I earn less right now than I did when I was 25.
The main problem is that we do not manufacture anything anymore and as such we should as a Country we should be helping inventors and the like with investment and practical support.
Watt started the industrial revolution through invention and whats to stop with the right help another genius etc. (he was Scottish by the way)
