mixed emotions on this thread love the time lapse love the health and saftey flare up again then the reasons people die in our trade seem so flipping preventable and pointless feel more strongly about getting h&s right with this firm im with now as its my call if them boys go home every night....................

seems to be all vehicles reversing or trapping,falls, electric and hit buy stuff.......hats, high viz, helmets, harnesses and cable detectors! feck boots nothing about a broken foot!

is that because when they were first introduced they weren't comfortable, they cost money and time. But now everyone's got some, everyone wears them (most of the time) and now there is no broken foot/toes appear on the stats.

just got our cat scan back from its 12 month service and calibration, £50 well spent all clean and new stickers and good for another 12 months, i bet many on here has never been serviced hehe

I wont have anyone on site without steel toe capped boots,we were demolishing a wall today (was going to take a picture of the 10 acrows ,needles etc but didnt want to get flamed :;): )
anyway I was on a low set of trestles with the demolition hammer and a large chunk of masonry fell hit the wall and bounced straight on to my toe,
i felt the weight of the impact on my toe-tector and it tore the leather
no steelies today would have been a broken foot for sure
started using safety glasses as well doing demo work,as has been said you just get us ed to it after a bit and it becomes second nature

going to have to dowel this side and underpin it, not a lot of crete for a big old house, but ground is good clean sand

he now wants this digging out and a retaining wall building, gonna have to bring in the 16 tonner i reckon 3.5 m retaining wall, gotta price it thought looking like another 30-35k job haha, not sure he will go for it htough for 1 space

Went to Travis to get 200 class b blues only had solid blues so got 200 for the same price as class b we were laughing that when you want solids for copings or pillars they never have them.

what i have noticed lately giles is that class A reds and blues all seem pretty crap,chipped and cracked etc

moved the 8ton out and moved 50 tons of loam of the cricket club across the road, keeping this as its great stuff

our engineers must be thinking alike we had A 393 and c35 in our little job
my big headache now is the goal posts we have to install in the kitchen
203 by 203 46kg and the *bar* is 4.5 m long
I make that over 33 stone :O
and there is no room for a genie?
ideas anyone?
