I also found that cutting through roots etc was the quickest way to dull a diamond blade too!

Matock or axe for roots, or old chain on chain saw not diamond blade
Have you seen those carbide Groundworker blades for cutting everything, heard very mixed reports on them. Was you tony with a wood blade in the cut off saw?

I smack f*ck out of them with a big pinch bar. Has given me traps like arnie though.

time is money and if the blades cuts it ,then it is used
I have had a skill saw blade in a stihl before but that has to be mega dangerous
I know mattocks do the job but the concrete was en route and we had 15 minutes to finish the shutter
usual crack eh?

Yep used one of them teeth like a White shark had 3000 sqf plywood screwed down x2 36mm floor joist had to go aswell newish house 600mm void with air bricks it was a motorway for rodents they even silicon all the holes up had to fill with light weight concrete then 100mm kingspan then under floor costly fix for mice but the noise they made was unbearable 
Ps back on subject the blade ripped through it very smokey and you had to keep a good hold of it

Just hope the DIYers are taking note of your stupidity and using purpose made tools. Seen two guys with half faces after using your method, both got the sack for gross misconduct.

but when you see the tree surgeon with a 4 inch mars bar from his mouth to his ear and 7 teeth gone,you realise when it comes it comes
i fell a lot safer cutting the wrong material with a diamond blade than a carbide blade or skill saw blade
i have had the Carbide ones shatter many times on me
wont use them now

I used a blade cutter on a strimmer once and didn't trust it at all i wont use them ever again! I have cut through roots with a still saw many a time though

Took me awhile to figure out what a mars bar was :laugh: I'm not too good at this cockney talk.

Even though I'm a Londoner I didn't realise it was slang.

mars bar is probably more weegy than london talk

i am all for H and S, but do believe that there comes a point when it becomes overkill
most scaffolders I know tell me that harnesses causes more accidents than not,but on big jobs you must wear them
in the pub earlier and 2 lads who work for the dreaded *wates* tell me that they are only allowed to use jack hammers for 20 minutes a day due to the number of joules per second and potential white finger
so in practise when breaking out old concrete they must have 30 men available during 1 day to rotate on to the jack hammer ???
so safety YES but also common sense and i feel safer using a diamond blade on a variety of materials than a skill saw on a piece of 4 by 2

hands up,wasnt expecting much from the pulvex blade but its cut everything I asked of it and more,at double the speed
the only thing I havent had a go at is bitmac
problem is i still have 20 jcb blades to get through
