I wish they would collect for nothing where I am based, it would save a lot of money on skips :)

I have to say I don't think I'd use a mini crusher, maybe the komplete one but need to match the through put to a 3 ton machine minimum. For what it cost me to muck away and import clean stone its not viable. Too many
Quarries rd our way on hard times, picked up 12 tons mot for £5 a ton the other day.

luckily my landscaping is busy. the crushers aren't .
Got a weeks hire in kent tomorrow, but its dead. Too many silly red rhino's round here.
There was a guy on here from central compact crushers, he had the komplet. When i spoke to him, he was selling them. he said being italian, they were a pain to get bits for them, and bloody expensive, which is why he gave up.
Giles, its cost effective when you have a small side entrance, and tones or rubble to get through. For big sites, round here, there are no free tips or anywhere to get rid of rubble. count yourself lucky!

to sum up, it's impossible to make a living just renting out crushers!, but its a nice sideline

My old boss owned a company called lancashire crushing, hence my interests, he is now a multi miliionaire, he had 10's of huge 50t + crushers and screeners plus all the big big plant to go with them, he had machines on sites in ireland and in europe, there is a living to be made, but defintaley not with these small ones, hard to justify the outlay in my opinion.

A mate of mine also has a big yard on local industrial estate where you can tip for free, he crushes with a machine mounted bucket crusher and sells the mot for £8.00 per tonne, crushed tarmac £5.00 per tonne, shingle for drainage, top soil etc.

he seems to make a good living out of it, he sells to utilities and big civils outfits

Dan if you sat down and worked it out do you actually make a worth while return on the money invested in your crushers?

well dan, i keep an accurate spreadsheet of outgoings (repayments, repairs etc.) and incomings, and last year i made nearly 4k. this year its about £800!, but what i cannot factor in is the sheer convenience of being able to take rubble back to the yard, and crushing when i have time, leaving me a stockpile of a1 quality crushed for patios and drives.
Its surprising just doing a fence can generate lots of old concrete.
Without the disposal at my yard, i would not have brought a crusher in the first place!
Once this machine is paid for, it will be profit all the way. By that time, people will be well educated into using them!
