thats my 3m ally screeder in the pic £40 bargain!!! the sub base was topped up today by about 50mm right through dipped off a string line off edges total depth about 150mm. 100mm first compaction and all voids were filled with sharp sand dusted over them its like a pool table well with a fall ;)

solely to ensure that the blocks will not move or settle when used as a level guide for subsequent screeding of the bedding layer.
Tony Mc

as you can see ,you only need to bed the blocks in this manner if you are using a notched board to screed your main area

if the subbase is good there is no requirement to introduce more concrete
Plus personally i always tend to do the edge course last,
screed the area off
lay pattern to edges
use the edge course to scribe the cuts
cut the blocks and insert the edge courses as i go

as i say its not wrong, but it is slower

Was continuing to shift the muck pile into the field. We've had a fair bit of rain, and its the wettest corner of the field, but the only accessible one...or so we thought

Had our loader tractor try and tow it out, but nothing doing, so we called in at the farmhouse up the road, and he came down with his beasty new John Deere 7030.

Pulled out Tractor, trailer and all out backwards without the engine revving above idle
