Thanks for the input mate, work is still in progress on the final version, its funded on a shoe string budget or should that be a boot string lol.

What I am hoping to achieve is something that most guys and girls in the landscaping and earthworks game would use almost daily to recycle what was previously seen as waste.
The less you cart away the more its saving you, I can also see it being used by green keepers etc. for mixing top dressings and the like.
The have finalised nearly the final version, like all things you have to build quiet a few until you get to the final version of which I have, I have so far build 3 versions and ironed out the bugs along the way.
So if you think its just a case of building one and then start selling its not.

When I get the final version sorted I will stick it on here first so you guys can have a look and give me your 2 pence worth.

Bit late to the party here but have just read all this.

The problem is that as soon as a customer sees you recycling their soil and putting it back in you think they will pay for that? Maybe some labour but that's it.

I've often thought about using a crusher for concrete but like I say people won't like that. They want to see stuff going out and coming in. The labour time would be enormous, along with cost of machine etc. all for what?

Good Idea but not sure how successful it would be.

there was one in earthmovers last month that used a standard belle mixer, you swapped the mixer drum for a drum with 3 mesh sizes and it looked a good idea,

Your screener seems a good idea I think that you would be better to aim it at diy market, they love things like that like the bricky tool pointing guns etc. Very clever simple idea

that is a cracking idea utilising an existing mixer what most of us already own, best one I have seen for small amounts of stuff to screen

mick if you cant see the value in crushing concrete,then i can hardly see you screening topsoil when you can buy a M2 for around £25
screeners look and sound great but having a man spending 8 hrs producing 2 tonne of gear is a non starter for me

I agree it has its uses especially on very bad access jobs but if i see crystalclear using it I will eat my hat :laugh:

I've never quite figured out what it is that executives do, other than wearing poncey suits and making sure they can't be blamed for anything.

It's one of those nebulous job titles that suggests a complete inability to wield a shovel, which effecively renders them un-hirable, as far as I'm concerned!
