cant throw owt away

Yeah, I think that's one of the reasons that I'm having to build this thing - extra storage for my hoardings.

PS, LLL, I know the joints between the blocks look quite large again, however I used a 15mm spacer between em all - the largish looking joins are definitely down to the way I've pointed (ahem, smeared) the mortar over their old, rounded corners :0

good on ya. thought you might have ended up with a swimming pool rather than a base, the way the weather is. Agree with LLL take time with levelling, end up with better finish. done brill so far why ruin it:)

At lunchtime the rain stopped and the sun came out to play

Got the sole-plate secured and first frame knocked up. Had to ask for a bit of neighbourly aid to raise it though :D

Chucked it down most of the day, but in the odd spell that wasn't a downpour I managed to get the second frame built and raised and also a smaller section next to the door opening.

Back wall and window fitted and tatty awning stretched for a bit of rainproofing. That's all the walls done - now for the roof. The window was a penny, off ebay :)

flat roof is it?

It is at the moment :) Well, flat-ish apart from the poles holding the awnings up - it'll be apex when it's finished...

Wall plate fixed to the top of the frame and ridge beam suspended in place (with temporary supports).

Note the safety rope strung around the 'ceiling height' and the safety hats by the doorway. There is also a full wooden beam placed across the top of the frame in the middle of the structure. I'm trying to mitigate the human damage that a falling beam could cause...

Cheers, I was quite pleased with the ridge board as it's made out of two lengths (it was a pain to find a 7m length of 6x2) joined with a 'scarfed-splay' joint.

In the above picture, the join is the slightly lighter coloured bit of wood about 150cm before the rear support.
