Giles. Think some folks use something called homebrew. A concoction of sand, lime, powered fire clay and cement.
I just bought fire cement (fondue ) and mixed it with fire brick grog( ground down fire bricks ) I know alot more about the job now than when I started.

Yes bit of a job but not that bad. There's just one chimney at front, that's next job. Not this weekend though, doing that big zip wire in north wales
Got to decide which pot.

its a toughie,I wouldn't trust the class b's not to explode in the heat, stone will look better 100%
is the main heat source at the back of the dome?
and the chimney at the front draws the hot air from the back over the pizza/steak/kebabs?
showed mrs and miss lout these pics and they want a van like yours and a pizza oven
the dangers of the interweb

Get a van like mine and get a trailer and build a mobile pizza oven. It would be a nice way of making a living, festivals, weddings etc.
The heat is at the back so that shouldn't be a problem. Now I've put them bricks up I think it might spoil the look of it, like your eye will be drawn to them. Less with hand made, but I don't trust them to blow. Think I'm thinking stone. I could lay a piece of stone flat but would that look as good as arch?

I would spend a bit of time on the arch, its what you will see more than anything, can you not chop up some of that yorkstone I spy in the background?
long pot +more draw = hotter pizzas

Here you go tony. I bought some tumbled Indian stone 150mm x50mm x 600mm and they worked out brilliantly for the job. The stone was off someone moving house, £10 for about 30 pieces, bargain.

Had a few pizzas now. Basic Tesco pizza dough. Put the chimney on tonight. The oven is finished now, just the fibre insulation blanket and vermicrete layer and final waterproof render layer. And clad chimney in stone.
Cookie was right alot of work, about 10 days up to now and 400 materials

how long does it take to cook stuff Dylan?
cookie was talking super fast with his
the problem I and most people have with normal ovens is that they just do not get hot enough for fast cooking!
