Mechanic still has'nt phoned to say my car is ready, so still at home. been busy, ate food, repair plaster, ate food, clear drive, ate food, wash up, ate food, vacuum, ate....get the picture ??? Had so much tea, coffee etc it's like walking on a ship in stormy weather slish, slosh :laugh:

same here just geting the dyson out then of to the gym to meet her indoors lack off work driving me daft even applied for a job down sarf lady on the phone asked me why was i applying.i said have you looked outside to which she replied oh :p :;): :;):

I've spent my day shovelling white granular salt, and coarse sand into ton bags. Did 20 ton between us today, and got another 37 sacks left, and a pile that looks as though its not been touched

took me 3 hours to get across the peaks today from sheffield to manchester went my normal way got to within 10 mile of the yard above castelton near mam tor mountain/big hill and went my normal way drifts higher than my car with about 2 foot on snow on the ground. low range got through and got round the corner got 400 metres down the road, single track with 3 or 4 foot high on either side. then just a solid wall of 5 foot thick snow as far as i could see someone had given up ploughing. had to back up 300 metres to turn round then get back up hill through the drifts. all credit with my nav in low range its was awesome, gave it a little pat on the dash board and said good girl to her haha.

you southerns don't know what snow is haha : -

finished at half 4 then had to report to the rugby club in our 3cx to clear the snow of the first team pitch, gave up at 6 came back to mum and dads for tea, stopping over this way for the week.

thats a whole bunch more than we have down here, I know what you mean about being trapped indoors its crazy, having to spend all day with er' not even worth me dropping flyers as people have been using them to scrape snow off there motors

i cleaned out my study today, a bin liner full of catalogues going back to 2000,defunct software and about 20 quid in shrapnel
driving me to distraction TBH

Yeah my office doesn't know whats hit it it's never been in such good shape. Giles do you like pissing into the wind even without snow the ground will still be rock solid on saturday. Our snow has pretty much gone but everything is still frozen solid and everything in the pipeline needs dug by hand. Got a big car park to do for a local Gospel hall but not allowed to start it until after a big wedding in 2 weeks time thats really frustrating because it's not so weather dependant.

not my idea, under orders from my dad i said leave the snow on it'll insulate teh ground from a heavy frost.

but they want the snow off so it doesn't melt and turn the place into a swamp, be dozing it to far in goal area and there a big valley with river down there so it'll run off into there when it melts.

grounds like concrete cant even if i want to damage it with the bucket

giles did you know that using fog lights in anything other then less than 100m visibility carries 3 points and a Â£60 fine? ???

15yrs ago stooped by the police and asked what the small lights at the front of the car are called, said fog lights, his response was : so were both in agreement then there not look at me lights then at which point he fined me. :p

100 metres haha i wish can you see 100 metres behind my car????

visibility was down to 20 metres if that, maybe less complete white out. so i'll take the moral high ground on this one.

there is a 700 foot high hill behind it.

according to me traffic law book its a verbal warning offence.

infact on the 3rd picture taken on normal setting not night mode you can only just see the drift at the back of my car which is maybe 3 metres long. so i think i was well with my rights to have them on. and do you think any copper was going to be anywhere in that stuff, haha 2 years ago i rescued the armed respose 4x4 volvo out of a ditch in the peaks. had a copper with mp5 strapped on his chest stood in the back of my truck for more weight as i towed them out a ditch.

bloke at the missus work got done for having his front fogs on, and because only one of them was working, he got done for having a bulb out aswell!!

You MUST NOT use front or rear fog lights unless visibility is seriously reduced (see Rule 226) as they dazzle other road users and can obscure your brake lights. You MUST switch them off when visibility improves.

think i was well within my rights to have them on
