Decent job there michael, can I point out two things that I would have done, first the capping would have been mitred to carry on up vertical board where you have a transition and also it looks very professional if you can work out different steps to be the same size, if that makes sense. Hope this is helpful for future reference.

I know exactly what you mean but real back gardens are not always a flat gradient
a fence first and foremost must enclose

not possible with what michael has to work with, as one of his steps is over an existing brick wall. Normally closeboard does follow the slope of the ground, and i generally use a laser level to work this out, or each step in a panel fence. As LLL says, not always possible.

ive made the steps fit in with my other plans for the garden :) I did think about using the capping on the vertical but thought the shape of it would look odd .... nocked this up for my nephews garden yesterday :D :p Image

No, customer had permission. It's a private park owned and maintained by the residents.
