You can't beat a roller for compaction although that Bomag ped roller is a crock of shit to use, it is so awkward and antiquated, the control are not smooth whatsoever - I'd never buy or rent one.

couldn't agree more dave and kuts. bloody awful thing, but no one round here hires a sit on one, so i had to make do. make note though, i got my bloke to use it!

S38 Highway Adoption works on a small private estate, final surfacing works yesterday after all the kerbing remedials, drainage surveys etc etc

Things have changed further around the corner, bloody great big roundabout there now. Used to be a nice 70mph sweeping corner!

I'd get complaints (and I do) about water pooling on new bitmac like that, even though the levels & falls are all good; I have to tell them that oil and water don't mix - when it cures/oxidises the water will run off better! I could write a book about it LOL
