Its been a while since I posted on this thread but seeing some of the recent photos by some of the BC members has inspired me to put a few pics up of recent projects we have supplied. Just to be clear, we haven't installed this, we've only supplied the materials but there is some fantastic shots here:

We've been having a bit of a yard clear out and have put together a brochure of various stone that we are looking to clear. It includes:

-Discontinued products
-Special orders that customers have changed their minds on
-Crates of sample material
-Seconds
-Brand new interior tiles

The material is priced very reasonably. Everything has been reduced by 50-80%, so there are some cracking deals to be had. Lots of the stone is brand new and un-opened.

LLL took a load of brand new Jura limestone at 60% off the original price (hope you dont mind me saying LLL)

The brochure is going public again on Tuesday but one of the best deals in there is 50m2 of 40mm Buff Yorkstone in random lengths going at £35m2 + (this was a special order cancelled by a client, so its in pristine condition)

If anyone is interested drop me a PM and I can email the brochure out to you.

Got a few pictures of a recent visit to York Minster. They are in the process of a huge restoration and have a full stone masonry yard on site. The stone is Magnesian limestone, very local and quarried just 12 miles from the cathedral.

We have also been working on a few packaging improvements on our bespoke stone. There is always the chance that stone can get broken in transit, especially the bespoke stone because it often comes in non standard sizes. It causes severe problems when bespoke stone gets damaged in transit. Clients get seriously annoyed (and rightly so) after they have waited weeks for bespoke stone only for it to arrive on site damaged.

The first thing we have done is to improve the packing of the step treads as these long items can be prone to damage. We now don't allow any part of the step tread to be unsupported during transit. We have done this by building frames using 3x2 timber that then sit on top of the pallets. Its costing us a bit but has massively reduced the amount of broken stone going to site, so we can justify it.

We have also invested in a shrink wrapping machine to wrap all bespoke pallets. The shrink wrap is a lot stronger than the cling role we have used in the past and reduces the chance of the stone moving in transit

fair play steve forward thinking
TBH when i ordered those steps i looked at the 2m ones and thought *Danger*
900mm steps look great anyway but as soon as things get outsize the potential for catastrophe increases exponentially
as an aside still waiting for instructions on your fantasy football league?
cheers LLL :)

Trying to weed out the problems before they arise.

With the football team all you need to do is build your team and then let me know and I will send you the code to join the league.
