And just last week I had a protracted email conversation with a cow-orker who was complaining that his PC's oscilloscope software wasn't working. We eventually found out that he hadn't plugged the oscilloscope hardware into the USB port - not only that - he didn't actually_have_ the hardware to plug in in the first place <sigh>
I must say, it's a relief to visit the BC for a touch of proper sanity.
Oh, and a link to the 'Excuse generator' :

the whole building was on a ups, we had a whole room of huge batteries then 2 60kva shipping container generators wired up in the underground car park.
the server room was like fort knox, over $50m worth of hardware and all on Co2 system for fire prevention with a 20 second alarm to get out or suffocate. maintained at 8 degrees c.
got some pics somewhere. will dig them out haha geek fest

Despite all the rave reviews, and at times, the somewhat smugness of MAC users, I’m still not keen on them :p
It’s to do with the behaviour of most Apple programs or applications, which act in a way that can actually make M$ look as though they aren’t into hard selling or forcing a user to operate their computer how they tell them
I can’t make out if it’s an American model, where the tech supplier things that that allows them or grants them the right to say you must use our software and not software of your choosing
And cross platform compatibility or allowing other third party apps to use or access our file formats, is totally alien to them
Time to dismount my soap box, and stop getting so annoyed at big corps and the way they attempt to shackle you to their products, regardless of whether that’s better for you or not

It's a pretty basic cookie that's used with The Brew Cabin, so I can't understand why it causes problems for a small number of users.
If anyone ever has access problems, they should email me at the usual address.
