How long between sealing and when it started to rain?

Also can you let me know what the stone is, because the hardness of the material will have a direct bearing on the answer to your question.

I know you were reluctant to name supplier before, if its 30mm then its definately imported stone, but what stone is it?

Any pictures

It started to rain 5hours after sealing and it was a bright sunny day and dried back to the original finish within 1hr.

The stone is an Indian sandstone and appears very porous. I've only put on one coat and am tempted to apply a second.

That's good to here, I'll follow up with another couple of coats. I was just concerned that the finish wouldnt be the same.

when LSP says what stone he means the exact name i.e. fossil mint, fawn beige, modac etc. Indian Sandstone whilst specific is still quite general, to a man who knows a thing or two about paving!

Looks like yellow mint sandstone to me. It is softer than the kota sawn sandstones but nowhere near as soft as things like rainbow or teak wood. Nice choice of stone !

You'll be wanting to give it 3 coats of sealant for a proper job. Obviously we cant rely on the weather in this country but you really need a couple of dry days to get the sealing done. Sealant and wet weather don't mix very well

Can you post some pictures of the finished job, would be good to see?

I'll post some pics when its sealed.

After my initial gripes I'm very happy with the end result

There will always be a few gripes along the way, par for the course. the most important thing is that the finished project is good

Thought I'd send in some pics of the perma wet patio...saves me installing a water feature!

Its hard to see really from the photos as they are so small. Pointing seems to be ok. Got any bigger photos?
