I'm with you on that one Rab. i was spending £50 a week on fags. Also when I would buy fags i would also buy a paper, drink, crisps etc. So all in all I've got a lot more money in my pocket. the big thing for me through is the health, i used to wake up every morning coughing up black shit, absolutely disgusting. I'm not saying I've cracked it yet, got to take it 1 day at a time. Everyone knows the health risks to being a smoker and you've got to be a bit of a mug if you smoke

Well done LSP, must be quite difficult at times. I sometimes wish my missus would give up the rollups, (not many a day) but it keeps her sane. We all have our little guilty pleasures I guess.

I tried to give up the beer since 9th Jan, big fail. I don't drink excessively but it's more like an "anesthetic" after a days graft :)

I think you do need something to keep you sane. I've never been much of a drinker at home but I've started pegging for a drink at night now I'm off the fags. In fact i've got a bottle of home made wine in the cupboard, i might go and crack it open, cheers Dave :D

Personally I think a drink in moderation is far better than suffering the stress of a busy day/week on site or in the office. Cheers! :)

Pound for pound i reckon i have cracked more jokes and written more funny stories than most cabineros. I have ( like yourself and others ) written few negatives now and again. It's a pity i only get remembered for the negatives but i s'pose that's the price we pay for our sins ??? :(

i think we can all agree that smoking and drinking are bad for you, however i am never going to be in to fishing or walking so a few shants works for me,I have cut the smoking and the bad food
just need to get my drinking down to social levels
i.e. 5 pints and a cab home,instead of 12-14 hour benders,

Well.....Just got back from the hypnotherapy, it was a strange experience one that i didnt particularly enjoy. He put me "under" but only for around 5 minutes, to see if i was susceptible, Said that he didnt think i was fully decided on quitting smoking, so he didnt do the full treatment :p

Dont think im gonna go back, he asked questions i didnt really want to answer, very weird
