started friday morning, road re open 2pm monday 2 guys 3 excavators :)

road crossing for 16 415kv 4 inch cables, had to be done over easter as this is the road to the loading/unloading bit of the factory, about 40-50 artics a day

big heavy concrete precast d400 units, the sumitomo lifted them no problem though

the site engineer had given us a plan and mapped the trench location saying there was nothing in the way and to proceed.

we road sawed the asphalt but it turned out to be 8-10" reinforced concrete

we found a high pressure 4" sprinkler pipe in mild steel ( 150 psi) a 10" mild steel pipe that no one knew about and a 2.5" sprinkler pipe!!

luckily we had enough depth to bridge the 10" one and use the channel as a lintel, the bit down the alley we will build in block and cover with durbar for access. need to break through at two point in the alley way and lintel it and one at the other end. thats this weeks fun job for me with a kango

sparkies have installed their bits, covered and filled with mot and road plate and we weill tarmac it with 250mm asphalt next weekend when the plants open

better start with a good old health and safety one :)

put the 3rd clutch in my navara second one weve done, my dad did it mainly as i was working gold old man 66 and still going strong

might be time to install some of the car ramps with have in the barn hehe

we got a new mini, hopefully swapping it for a kubota though as its not that great of a machine

I did loading the dumper with the mini on full offset while the kubota was breaker out behind me was tight caught it with the back of the bucket linkage as I slewed rd but everything on that side of the rd is getting demolished in the new year so I was kind of helping them out ;)

Trust me on this, on large jobs like this you can and will get away with things like this unless you have a sharp eyed qs. They will just deduct it from the demo package.

not charging them for that but they are getting charged for saying there was nothing in the way then 3 pipes and a manhole, site engineer wandered up today and announced he knew they were there but becuase id only asked to see the foul plans he didnt tell me about the 10" works water conencted to a million gallon reservoir or the 150 psi sprinkler main, these big sites there are a lot of politics and some ppl hoping you mess up.

i fixed it today stuck a joint and a 1m length on

given the go ahead for another 10k of work as well so alls good :)
