silly question mark, but how did you ensure that that manhole was flush with the surrounding ground. those rings are not easy to cut to size!!

But the manhole cover as pictured isn't to final finished level....there should be a course or two of engineering brick to bring it up finial finish.

true dave, but as usual customer did no what to spend the money, they was happy with it,i was doing it for another guy,
its concreted in now and finished, it will make it easy to reach in and turn the penstock with no brickwork, well that my story anyway..... :D

so new job we started 540m2 slab, and footing for robots, and repair of another slab at ferrodo brake pad manufactures.

some other contractors been done the test holes left a mess

we had to refill the trenches in layers and trench ram took a day to get them all filled, then we had to get rid of all the plaster board they'd left so two days extra before we'd even started,

Image

so 2 10 yard skips for the plaster board, everything has to be certificated and recycled, skips for wood, plastic, metal etc concrete staying on site for demolition contractor to crush when they sell off the other bit of factory, painters are working in other bit on the cherry pickers to we have to have springlers running to control dust

Image

was still there at 9pm on thursday

Image

Image

Image

full day breaking out on friday got about 400m2 done in a day 20 litres of diesel burnt not bad going

we had to build some gates as well each side is 1.5m x 3m

Image

Image

got about 300 tons of concrete to get out, got the 3 ton dumper might get the 6 ton but takes half a day to move it and door way is only 3mx3m of a single width rd between sheds. got a 400 yard run to the tip

brought the 8 ton up to help shift the crete, trying to talk the old man into a 5 or 8 ton kubota but he aint having it yet :)

Image

gotta strip the concrete then proof roll subgrade with sheeps foot roller then 200mm slab going back in

its a full cdm site so full hi viz hard hat, goggles, ear buds or defenders gloves etc all times on site, out area is off limits to anyone but us.

nice and warm in the sheds though gotta be 20 degrees
