Thanks very much Bob. There is no secret to it, just sheer bloody hard work seems to be the order of the day

Lovely sticky yellow London clay.

Thanks for the write up Tony on the news section of the website.
Hows everyone getting on with the rain? I went down to our Brentwood sight today and it was like a bog.
Hoping that its going to dry up soon but wont hold my breath

I think whats happened is that the east of england has had about 50% rain more than usual
whereas its business as normal for the northwest
most london clay i have come across is a dark blue impermeable clay,i guess that yellow stuff is a variation

I thought the yellow, which we call 'cowbelly', was London Clay and responsible for the distinctive colouring of the bricks used down there?

I come from Stoke which is the clay capital of the world. Dark red clay if I remember rightly. Dug loads of that stuff. You can literally chop the stuff out in blocks

The Stoke clay is similar to what we have in Culcheth, as we're only 40 miles away. Damned hard stuff!

Looking at those pictures at least the clay ain't full of rocks, makes for nice clean dig out.

Yeh, i know what you mean there. Did a job in stoke years ago and we were digging out for a ptio and the ground was just full of rocks. Made it impossible to do any kind of grading or leveling of the ground, nightmare

We are having a open day on the 20th March. If anyone from the Brew Cabin would like to come down and see us in operation, they will be most welcome. We will even be providing food
There will be a tour of our depot, showroom and the new stone factory which is always of great interest to people.
I guarantee you will learn something about stone and also that it will be interesting
If anyone wants to attend give me a shout
Steve
