Doesn't half look like reclaimed york Danny. Cracking work, I bet that went down quickly with all those decent lines to work too

Would be keen to see some pics of the self binding gravel when its done, do you get it from irwins?
Should keep you busy for a while. Nice to see a proper stone built building rather than those bloody tradlites that are going up everywhere since Govenors gate.

Yes Irwins it's the same stuff that went into the Antrim Castle refurb over the summer you'd be welcome to pop in if you're up Ballymena way over the next while. Only seen a few houses done well with those stone blocks (mostly called St Catherines Flint) and seen hundereds done badly the ones with the larger stones are better like this.

I worked on a large house build a few years ago with the actual 'tradlites' used in govenors gate. In the same basalt with yellow brick in your photo. They are quite good but then on another job I saw guys laying 'stoney block' made by stoneyford concrete and they, as you said, were all small stone and were pretty grim. You can pick out the coursing a mile off. I along with another pointed up and acid washed about 250sq metres of them, not much fun.
I've been keen to use the self-binding but at my scale it would be a few bags here and there and they don't seem interested in anything less than 10T loads.

I am sure you will transform that place pablo
are those blocks the ones where they stick stones into a 440 by 215 concrete mould?
I have used the flint version and they are difficult to get looking right
didnt quite understand your post haggis, are you building water features?
off to work in a minute 12 window openings and 2 door openings to cut out at the flats conversion, lets hope they have made the windows the right size
