fantastic destination haggis
I have been 5 times in 15 years and it has improved massively
when i first went in 98 it was still like a communist country
people only spoke magyar and russian
they have renovated nearly all of the inner city now and best of all for us its dirt cheap
you can pay big money in the real tourist bit in the centre
but i was paying320 forints for a large gin and tonic and 300 fts for a pint of staropramen , 700 fts for 20 b and H
bearing in mind its around 355 fts to the pound
we went to an all you can eat sunday brunch at le meridien with free wine and hungarian champagne ,£22 each in english
went to the desert buffet at the marriot and it was all the desserts you can eat plus free champagne £6.50 a head

I spoke to a couple of lads lying setts see here excavating
Image
and they reckon around 500 euro a month is the best they can earn on price
its a shame for them ,but the british £££ goes a long way there
found this pic as well
these slabs seem to be like council greys to us
Image
Image
quite snazzy in their own way
also liked these
Image
we stayed at the palazzo zichy which cost us about £90 a night for a suite, could never afford places like this in the uk
cheers LLL

That last shot looks like Donnegal Quartz. Assuming it's some kind of Hungarian Quartz?

finally back into work mode
chicken kebab every night for £1.50 from the kebab shop near our hotel
Image
jamal did a whole one of these every day ,and by the last day i converted him to being called jimmy
he only went to budapest 3 years ago from baghdad and speak english magyar and iraqi
i only had a sore tummy on 6 of the 7 nights :;):
got to the airport and mrs lout did her leg so i decided to have a gander round the airport
Image
found this place upstairs
well worth £9 for a 20minute thai massage
plus the music drowned out mrs lout's screams :)

new job started
the lads dug it out and concreted it while i was away
we banged the brickwork up Tuesday
Image
i was a bit miffed at the concrete height, they left us 675 below FFl
so we had to import 9 tonnes of type 1
Image
poured the slab at 3 today
Image
its a PITA having 2 DPMs around the celotex but its what they want
looks a bit damp tomorrow
but we shall soldier on
waiting for any and all barbs and comments
