Totally and utterly agree; I'd say 75% of customers who are priced SUDS installations tell me to not bother with it - I always include it as a separate item on quotations so that I am in with a bite, not everyone includes any SUDS work, so that could go against me (or any other proper contractor specifying the job properly)

I do exactly the same as Dave, not one person has wanted it doing, put a few in on new developments though :)

the suds regulations are a joke
one drive near me, the contractors lowered all the kerbs (without permission) paved the whole garden over with tumbed setts, sloping towards the road, and when a neighbour complained to the council about the run off, the reply came back " we poured a bottle of water on it and it appeared to drain through so we are happy that this drive does not need drainage!"
unbelievable

New SMA as laid on that drive above will appear to act as permeable bitmac, so thats the get out of jail free card for the householder.

There is NO WAY we would have ever considered hand digging those holes, 1.5 tonne machine with an 18" bucket and a hydraulic breaker had the job done in just over a day. Was pretty tough on the barrows wheeling the much out! Over 8 ton out in the end! 5.4 m3 of C35 back in by barrow too, that wasn't too bad.

Great minature shovel you have there on the tunnelling picture or `my first spade` as someone described mine the other week, cant fault them for a tenner a piece.

Think Sean will be along shortly to discuss your shuttering though
