Ah! sausage lorn as its called (notice I didnt say we ,as Im a mick ;) )

No tennants on tap? It was my preferential juice back in the day. I sorely regret the time when you couldn't get tennants extra off the pump, about 1992 ish :)

I had to change my whole beer ethos, not a nice experience.

Busy and have work ahead of us until the middle of October.

Think we're in for a long hard winter work-wise.

working and pricing away, but the pricing is tighter and tighter
trying to break prices down so that others dont get the job by not pricing what we have priced for , if that makes sense
got an extension to start in 3 weeks that will last 6 weeks or so and a few other bits and bobs, nothing major

I think we're in for a long hard winter. The money that is being spent at the moment is money that has been shelved/puts aside for a while. Best to spend it now coz it ain't gonna give you any retruns invested elsewhere.

When this money dries up, I think we're in for a bumpy ride.

PS I hope I'm wrong.

i been doing pretty good on the stock market dave
basically i was getting 1 % interest from the bank, and never a win from the premium bonds

so i put my bag of groats into various stocks and shares.

have cut back on eating out and socialising this year and hopefully we can get past xmas

i think if you get past xmas you have a chance

cheers LLL

Just got paid from a job today, on which i made a royal mess of the price, i dont know how i did it because im pretty meticulous when it comes to pricing but was about 30% to cheap.

To my amazment the customer was intent on paying me as much as possible and paid me the full amount plus a bit more and a bonus for my labourer!

Could'nt beleive it, makes up for the guy that ripped me off in april

We all suffer from underpriced jobs at some point.

We are all having it hard at the minute, some more than others i grant you that. Some like me have been through it many times. In the past i've worked for peanuts, just managing to get by. There is nothing more soul destroying than being on the dole. You get into a daily routine of getting up out of bed already defeated. The arguments start, the boozing starts and the family starts to break down. Keep your self respect, drag yourself out of bed, get out there and try at least. It will come good eventually. If as a last resort you do have to sign on then .....throw away the tele :;):

Thanks sean, I am trying my best to remain upbeat and really do hate the thought of throwing in the towel asd it goes against everything I believe in, but at same time have to be realistic and still have 3 other mouths to feed. :p

Not knocking you for going on the dole m8. i would be there like a shot to get what entitled to and have been in the past. Have also been there with no prospects, nothing to do and banging my head up the wall trying to think of a way out. In the end it was the black economy and some voluntary work with disabled that got me through with a purpose to get out of bed. Spent so much time in the garden in those dark days, it was immaculate. I managed to acquire all my stuff to landscape it to perfection :;): The council gave me ten grand to move in the end, thats how i got my first mortgage. I had three kids at home then.
