Used to go to lots of shebeens. The last time' stoned out of my tree on leb gold and red stripe, full of curried goat, i had to make a quick exit through an upstairs toilet window. The "natives" did'nt take to kindly to the only white boy with the organisers bitch. Still managed to get 48 stitches in my swede tho.

The shebeens were mostly run by the jamaicans and it was mostly reggae music. Big 5 is an old reggae song about s*******
the negros in the clubs, shebeens etc all had an hanky, or rag hanging out the back pocket. We used to take the piss and do the same. In those days, with the black power movement it was dodgy. I was, lets say well known, so could go anywhere, and did.

Having a hanky dangling from your back pocket nowadays has a *completely* different meaning!
