i'm currently knee deep in a couple of books. jonny cash's autobiography, royal marine history and just finished a great read Generation kill about recon marines invasion of iraq by an inbeded rolling stone jounalist. read it then watch the mini series they just made of it, it out there on the net or i saw it on fox channel. it was great,

Just finished 'the Crystal Skull by Manda Scott' great read, loosley based on old mayan legend and 16th century prophecy, realy interesting stuff.
I consider myself manly, im only 21, so in the generation you guys are talking about!

I was deeply shocked by the amount of guys eating cereal in the snap cabin. From 2004 it seemed to be the done thing, never got used to it. We had a ground worker who would set-up in a garage with a little camping stove (think he did actually do the back of the shovel thing ,once)and all you could smell drifting across the site at 10am was bacon. That was four years ago too,miss that kind of thing.

Working in a Jewsons yard today - the smell from the snack van right outside all day was making my tummy rumble somewhat throughout the day! I had no cash on me either!

when i was younger i never gave a thought to the hygiene of road side snack vans,but i tend to avoid them now
a lot of people think builders will eat any old rubbish ,but we go to cafes,delis,bakers on quality rather than price
best in luton are "snack attack" cafe " prudens" bakers in lynham road and " sands" bakers in birdsfoot lane
all quality eats

Having done all the boozing, fried brekkies etc in my younger years, i find it plays havoc with my stomach. I go for the salads, ryvitas, fruit and easy eats now. I have a fry may be once in a blue moon today is the day. Have to buy a box of rennies as i know i will suffer after

I usually have a Muesli breakfast.. I'm uesly too f*!@@* late for one!.
Seriously though if you want a good read try "Chickenhawk" by Robert Mason. It's about a helicopter pilot in Vietnam - bloody good read. There is a sequel but I haven't read it yet.

i love a good fry up, up who has the time to have one in a morning though. or finding a decent cafe haha plus i'm 19 stone on my way down from 21 stone haha so thats all banned. poached eggs on toast or porridge for me.

Can't beat a good old fried egg butty with brown sauce !
Just read a book called OGG, it's about a company that does holiday experiences for the mega rich, like being a dictator for the day or being royalty for the weekend on an official tour, all fictional but some really interesting and funny ideas especially with dwarfs/midgets (you'll have to read it to find out why) !

when we start a job in a new area ,the first piece of info i need is on local eats, price is irrelevant (to an extent) cleanliness and quality are paramount.
I wont eat cafe sausages anymore, i cant stand food cooked by immersion in burning oil
they reckon a fry up with grilled bacon, poached egg,beans,boiled mushrooms, granary toast and black pudding is actually good for you
ok i made it up about the black pudding
may start a food thread

Mmm,prawn sandwiches especially from Greggs the bakers.Wont touch seafood from Cafes and butty shops.

I had black pudding for the first time last weekend,it was very nice, a bit aprehensive at first knowing that grandads black pudd when i was younger looked a bit like a giant bogey

Careful lads black puddings can be harmful to your health.
I have a scar in the palm of my left hand after a nasty incident trying to seperate two pieces of frozen black pud with a sharp knife, in my defence there was also some stella involved and it was late.
Some imaginative names about on butty vans and cafes, i personally like `Natties Big Baps` in Trafford Park

theres a posh sandwoich shop near me in sheffield that does the full monty eggs, bacon, sausage, black pudding, mushroon, tomatoe on a bread cake with a coffee for £4.50. all local produce and proper sausages really good stuff, thing falls apart by the end but its all good.
don't about you boys but being a new man haha, i do all the cooking in our house. mrs can cook but i'm better at it and make more interesting stuff.
