I agree. There are too many rules and regulations that merely get in the way. If we want to lift a heavy weight, then its down to us, not some goomy in an office pen pushing

On a lot of jobs now the kerbs are lifted with an attachment to the machine. this ties up the machine and because of it the base is spread further than normal, (we all know what happens then as it starts to go off a?) to alleviate this problem ops tend to lay a deeper base which in turn leads to differential settlement and lips occurring, so the quality of work suffers. also its a big rush to free the machine up. all this leads to hundreds off kerbs being relaid with the remedials. false economy on a massive scale.
