i see that. so from my picture it will be ok to do it like that with a single wall?

One last point i just thought of; do i need expansion gaps in the concrete foundations aswell?
I am putting them down at 250mm deep.

not normally, but after going this far it may not be a bad idea
best to do it where the joints in the wall will be
just use a bit of ply or something and leave it in
