Right so still need some tack coat..... builders merchants have some stuff called bitumen emulsion and they reckon it does the same thing?! what do you guys think?

Yeah that's the stuff......but I'm somewhat surprised to see a BM has it in stock.
What size drum is it tin?

your local tar plant will also sell it, we have a local one who will batch any order down to half a ton, but you pay for the hassle, cemex for full loads or wagon loads much cheaper per ton.
dave did you get the letter of cemex explaining the £1.30 price rise, i only glanced at it.

Dave L its in a gallon drum, hence my suspicions, it just says on it that its for priming a multitude of different surfaces it mentions asphalt but mac?!

you can get it in all sizes from 45 gallon drums down to spray can sized ones for repairs & patching.

at least its just the GFs uncle ,if it was the potential dad in law i would be worried
TBH dan I have been caught many times by spurious relations looking for cheap jobs "when you get a minute" or "in your spare time"
when they ask about freebies or cheap jobs now i just mention working out a price and they go all quiet :;):
the bottom line is that when you go shopping they dont pay for your groceries ,
