The only thing to watch is the dosing of the SBR - not all SBR's are equal.

Some of the cheaper brands manage to be cheaper by providing diluted SBR. They buy a 205 litre drum for, say 1 quid a litre, stir in 50 litres of water, pour it into 5 litre cans and then flog it for 15 quid, whereas a reputable brand will sell 5 litres of 100% SBR (and it's not always easy to define just what is and what isn't 100%) for 20 quid, but you are actually getting more SBR for your money than the so-called bargain.

Check the labelling for the recommended dosage rate - it should state so many ml per kg of cement

Thanks Tony - thats good advice which I hadnt considered. Many thanks.

Im planning to use FEB SBR. (Febond)

Query: if Im using a slurry - is it essential to add SBR to the bedding mortar as well?

(Im a slow worker, you see.....and adding SBR to the mortar means I've to use it quicker!!!!)

Also - do I have to use the slurry covered stone within a certain time frame? (ie: does it matter if it dries?)

Just had the grit sand and cement delivered..... Time to get busy....

Feb is a reputable brand - well, it is now they've off-loaded that godawful GeoFex to NeverBuild

Better with SBR in the mix, but if it's curing before you get to use up a mortar miix, mix in smaller quantities. I'd only worry about this for those copings, though.
