Thanks. Its the Aberdeen weighting again. I moved up here from London and prices for most things are comparable. Time to start hunting around again. Also so far only one company has turned up to price the back garden patio and turfing!

i have family in aberdeen, they hear your london accent and straightaway think
london==> oil==> loaded
without seeing it I would be looking for around £115 a metre for argent
supply and fix
that comes out at £6900
+VAT is £8280
obviously if you were supplying the blocks that would knock £2160 off my price
so for a top quality job he is in the ballpark

Understood, thanks chaps. The slightly more pressing job at the moment is the rear garden. At the moment it looks like the Somme. Ideally I'd like one company to do the whole shebang but as it seems as if nobody is interested. Cheers.

I know you have a new member in the family and the Mrs won't be chuffed but she will be when your finished.
You could/can do all of this work yourself. Break it down into phases, back garden first and learn as you progress and with the backing of the lads on here it will be less hassle etc than you think. Hire a small machine and clear the back garden, stone the base and rough level with the same machine and then hire the whacker/roller. Your half way there.

This site was built by the Boss because of lads like ourselves who gave it a go and too keep us right. Just post pictures of your progress and any questions you may have no matter how trivial and someone will guide you in the right direction..

Take a couple off pictures of the back garden and post a pic explaining what your intentions are and move on from there.

Thanks Rab. Unfortunately this will need to be next weekend as heading to the lake district tomorrow for a family meet up. I'll see if I can sweet talk the Mrs during the week to let me have a crack at it rather than trying (and failing) to get someone in. Where about you based Rab? Cheers.

I love Aberdeen, been there a few times

I will give you a price for all of the work you require but it will be around the same as you have already been quoted, but not using end of batch paving

I was toying with the idea of a trip up to Aberdeen but I'm being kept far too busy atm. I noticed Mick said he was interested though, no idea about his turfing skills but his monoblock driveways are the best I've seen on here.

Thanks everyone. I'll upload some pictures next weekend as we are just setting off for 5 days in the lake district. First holiday away with the wee un and the car is chockablock. I've been given a lead on a bloke in Aberdeen but it'll probably be another dead end. Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday everyone. Cheers.

Mick is one of the best pavers around. There is a lad on here Paul (Pablo) who is from Sky and based in NI but he might Know someone if things don't work out with Mick.
