When I first saw the system in photies, I suspected that there'd be 'lips' or flanges that would hold the flags in place, so the glue thing was a bit of a surprise.

There was a same-sort-of-idea product put out by the now defunct R2 Paving about 3 or 4 years ago. Their system didn't involve permanently fixing the flags into position, but relied of a permantly fixed or robust outermost edge - in their case a small granite kerb that *was* glued into place, while the flags could be lifted out, swapped about or even exchanged for a new look if so desired.

I'm guessing that, as good as the glue is claimed to be, it wouldn't be too much of a challenge to prise them free of the steel framework, if you really wanted to.
