Pegs and levels and long bits of wood. I think worse case there were some indents of about 7mm deep with the long piece of wood over the area. I hope the bedding layer will take that out with no problem:) Any idea what weight the flags come out at per m2?

some gorgeous clays available
Blenheim blues and Buckingham brindles are my 2 favourites
just lay on 150mm of lean mix and haunch
the colour stays for good as they are fired not dyed

Ive finally got the slabs laid and ive now come to do the edging. The engineering bricks do look a bit skinny though so i think ill go with the clays or slate that you chaps recommend.
Any idea where i can get them from in the hampshire/berkshire area rather than ordering unseen?
Cheers

Cheers lll. Ill give um a bell, i had a quick tour of jewson, buildbase, meakins, travis perkins and keyline at lunch and turned up nowt in stock. Any idea where the slate pavers shown in one of the earlier pictures come from?
I have laid a couple of areas of the sandstone, one with a semi dry mix and one with a wet. There are a lot of hollow sounding flags in the semi dry area, they do have a full bed and sounded fine until it all went off. i found the wet mix so much easier to work with. Do i need to whip the hollow ones up and cement slurry the backs or will they be ok?

dont know mate, havent got a crystal ball
the 50m i did yesterday and today was all wet bedded and looks solid
I allowed 70mm from subbase to top and that worked fine approx 45 mm of wetter gear
the last bit the lads were short on the subbase and 75mm of mix became a pain to work with
