Hi,
Many thanks for the help. It does look like camel dust is the more common name for it. My main worry when choosing the indian stone is that I get one which is hard and not prone to moss as possible.
I have narrowed it down to camel dust, raj green and modak. It seems raj green and modak are well thought of generally. I do really like modak but the brick work on the back of the house is a red/orange colour, does it look ok against this or has anybody found it clashes a bit?
Thanks,
Mark

I would talk to Steve at "LSP", as he knows more about imported Indian stone than most people will ever want to know.

Hi all
Camel Dust remains one of the most popular colours of Indian Stone to be exported. The supply becomes an issue most seasons because of the demand out of India - last year monsoon conditions also added to the back log of orders and main suppliers couldn't supply this stone for several weeks (especially the calibrated stone)
The stone is durable and hard-wearing.
Most of the major UK importers have this stone in their range and many under a different marketing name
here is an image of a job completed last summer

Sorry, its not the best photo in the world but gives you an indication.
All the best

All the stones you mention are hard, nothing to worry about with any of them.
In my experience Raj green goes very well with red brick. Modak is an aquired taste and can look busy
