Thanks for the ideas. Not sure how to upload photos so here's more info.
The copings are 35mm thick textured buff, the same as a Bradstone paver, say 450 x 450mm.
The wall is purely to hide a holding tank which is 1.8m x 1.2mm x 0.6m, this is self supporting so it will not be applying any pressure to the wall around it.
The copings are just to finish the top off, but the 55mm overhang is needed to cover the top edge/lip of the holding tank.
Overall thinking off fixing a short piece of galvanised flat bar across the brick with a overhang of say 40-45mm to give additional support to the coping, 2 per coping.
