Thanks for the ideas. Not sure how to upload photos so here's more info.
The copings are 35mm thick textured buff, the same as a Bradstone paver, say 450 x 450mm.
The wall is purely to hide a holding tank which is 1.8m x 1.2mm x 0.6m, this is self supporting so it will not be applying any pressure to the wall around it.
The copings are just to finish the top off, but the 55mm overhang is needed to cover the top edge/lip of the holding tank.
Overall thinking off fixing a short piece of galvanised flat bar across the brick with a overhang of say 40-45mm to give additional support to the coping, 2 per coping.
Please let me know any thoughts, once again thanks for your input. Cheers Phill

Can they be "attached" to the top of the holding tank as well? In which case they'd at least be bedded on something more substancial than a single Brick.

hi.this should be bomb proof. bed the copings on as normal, let the bed go off for 4/5 hours then remove the copings, leaving the mortar bed in place. the next day, seal both the mortar bed and underside of coping with SBR. slightly score the underside of coping with a 4 " grinder and then with a notched trowel apply rapid set floor addy to the mortar bed and back butter the coping. relay nice and tight onto the mortar bed.with a wet paint brush clean any seeping addy, therefor "grouting" the 3/4mm bed joint{the wall only 18" high ,it will not be seen anyway}....any help?
