Thanks for all the replies, you boys definitely know your aggregates!

Tried to load a pic but haven't got an external webpage to put it on. I bit of a head myself this morning so maybe thats the problem!

I can email it to someone if they can put it up.

I haven't spoken to managers yet as it was delivered Friday and all kicked of late in the day, then the bank holiday weekend, so Tuesday morning will be calling to get it taken away.

Just for the record I have had 2 more people in the building game round, my digger guy and partner dad who also think it's the worst they've seen.

Hey ho, you live and you learn.

Thanks guys and enjoy you beers and barbies.

Here's what my local quarry supplies as recycled Type 1, how does yours compare?

And this is their proper Type 1

Thanks Darren,

Nothing like either, I have sent a pic to Giles (GB_Groundworks) so hopefully he can post it. I will also look at the Image shack option.

That looks like the spoil from my yard that they have given you.

I've had 60 tonnes of type 1 delivered this past week. It is apparently graded from 50mm to dust of grey whin stone.

Sorry the pictures aren't cleared but it is starting to get dark up here and I had to use the flash

Thank you - thats exactly what I thought! Your pics are what I was expecting!
After an email throwing phrases like "fit for purpose". satisfactory quality" and sale of goods act around, they say they will collect today.

Fingers crossed, and thanks for confirming I'm not going mad. I may not be the aggregate oracle but I have managed to build a house before and never had any of that crap before.

Happy Wednesday.

I've seen much worse stuff than that on big sites. It's a good dressing over capping layers but does need a heavy compaction. The pile has stayed together in the picture after some of it was removed so it holds pretty well together. We shouldn't have too many bad views on recycled gear. We are only putting back in what we originally took out. There is a huge variation in crush in every County.
You've done well to get them back to collect it so fair play to you. :;):

You haven't mentioned anywhere how much you paid for the load?

Thanks for that input IP - i agree with your comments on recycled except the manager was adamant it wasn't recycled hmmm...

For info load not only taken away but agreed that cheque would be stopped, so today's a good day to celebrate woohoo.
Hell, I am may not be a contractor but I'm a pitbull when it comes to fighting my corner lol
