Just to keep you up to date on my progress. Finished laying and very pleased with the results. I'm a diy'er and this was my first time laying slabs. There's obviously things I'd do differently next time round but generally v chuffed.

Laying was fine, but pointing with a dry mix (snowcrete/building s) did leave some marking but not enough to worry about. This seemed to happen becasue it was impossible to remove every last bit of excess mix from the surface and then it rained lightly. I did wonder afterwards what it would be like if some sort of sealant was applied to them before pointing. Did this with natural stone in the bathroom and any excess etc came off completely and no discolouration.

Don't think I did the step correctly - there should be a lip, sill or overhang thingyme. But then I prefer the look of the straight edge myself.

Only thing I need to do if wash them down as they've got a bit mucky whilst I laid the Ipe.

Nice job all around by the look of it, Ben. I like the rendered walls/stone/timber combination.
