Translation of original post:

Great forum. I read most of the posts yesterday looking for a solution to my problem.

I have just redecorated my bathroom and foolishly agreed to a clear double glazed window rather than an obscure one. I am now attracting unwanted attention from two of my neighbours, one to the side of my property and one to the front. I live in a corner plot.

I decided to put a living screen to block their view and visited a nursery to buy an evergreen tree in excess of 20 foot tall to screen the view from the back. Sadly they do not stock anything of this size but I did manage to purchaser a shrub to screen the front. I would appreciate any information on where I can buy a 20 foot evergreen.

Whilst at the nursery I obtained some advice about redesigning my front garden with hard landscaping. Currently I have a double tarmac drive with slab edgings. The area is approximately 21’ Long and 11’ wide though I am considering decreasing the garden and enlarging the driveway by 3 foot. The gentleman suggested that I asphalt the entire drive.

I have a pampas grass growing next to my parking space and have realised it is not ideally placed, I intend to remove this and resurface the entire area in red tarmac. Can anybody recommend a reputable contractor to do this please?

A little off topic, but any advice would be welcome: I am having a problem with my neighbours parking next to my dropped curb and blocking access to my driveway and decided to check out my rights on the internet. The search engine I used brought up a troubling article, which said that the government intended to increase the council tax banding for properties with extra parking. Can anybody shed any light on this issue please?

To recap, the advice I am looking for is:

1. Where can I buy a 20-foot tall evergreen tree?
2. Can you recommend a reputable contractor to do the work on my drive
3. Are you aware of plans to link rateable values to parking spaces?

Hope this helps!

Mercedes,
I have two suggestions to help solve your problems. The first is literacy classes so that people can understand your posts and the second is privacy film on your windows.

Great bit of translation Playtoday - that must have taken some time - I think Merc should be left alone - gather her thoughts, and then assault us all, in her own inimmitable style - chapter by chapter - verse by verse - (I think she's a gay transvestite brick-laying punk - an undercover Mail On Sunday journo, looking for a story)..... no she's not - She's a gorgeous, stunningly beautiful, real person with a drive & tree & neighbour problem........

Dearest Merc - come back to us - you have a home here.
